Effective Date:2/9/2026

Program Name

Kapa’a Pediatrics SMS Pediatric Triage Service

Program Description

Kapa’a Pediatrics offers a text message (SMS) based pediatric triage service that allows parents and guardians to text their child's symptoms to our clinic. Messages are reviewed by our licensed clinical staff, who provide triage guidance via text message. This service is intended to help you determine the appropriate level of care for your child's symptoms.

Consent and Opt-In

By sending a text message to our triage phone number, you consent to receive text message responses from Kap’a Pediatrics related to your child's health concern. You are initiating contact, and your first message serves as your opt-in to receive responses.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on the nature of your conversation. A typical triage interaction involves 5 to 15 messages. You will only receive messages in direct response to conversations you initiate. We do not send marketing messages, promotional content, or unsolicited texts.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Standard text messaging rates from your wireless carrier apply to messages sent to and received from our service. Contact your carrier for details about your messaging plan.

How to Get Help

If you need assistance with the SMS triage service, you can:

How to Opt Out

You can stop receiving messages at any time by texting STOP to our triage number. You will receive a confirmation message and no further texts will be sent. You may restart the service at any time by texting us again.

Service Limitations

This SMS triage service is not a substitute for emergency medical care. If your child is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.

This service provides triage guidance only. It does not provide medical diagnoses, prescriptions, or treatment plans via text message. All triage guidance is reviewed by licensed clinical staff, but final medical decisions should be made in consultation with your child's healthcare provider.

The service is available to established patients of Kapa’a Pediatrics and their families. Response times may vary based on clinical staff availability.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy at Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your information. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Supported Carriers

Our SMS service is compatible with most major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and others. Carrier support is not guaranteed, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Liability

Kapa’a Pediatrics, its staff, and its service providers are not liable for any delays or failures in message delivery caused by wireless carriers, network issues, or technical problems beyond our control. We are not responsible for any actions taken or not taken based on information provided through this service in emergency situations where 911 should have been contacted instead.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the SMS triage service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
